"Be happy for nothing. Ipinanganak tayong hubad sa mundo. Ang una nating kayamanan ay ang pagmamahal. Mabuhay sana tayo na mapagmahal sa pamilya, kapwa, bansa at mundo. When you're in your death bed, there will be no regrets."
-- JHUNE REYES, USAF
I got curious about JHune Reyes when I learned he works in the US Air Force. I sent him a message, told him I wanted to write a little article about him and would post it on our FB account. "I'm just a regular guy," he said.
Jhune was born and raised in Las PiƱas. I could say nasa dugo niya ang pagiging sundalo dahil naging sundalo rin ang kanyang ama na nakapasok naman sa US Navy. Sa public school siya nag-elementary at highschool. A naturally friendly guy, JHune and some of his classmates in section JADE formed a group they called "LUCKY 13".
In JUne 1989, Jhune came to the US with a sole purpose of joining the US Air Force. He directly or indirectly served in OPERATION DEsert Storm/Shield, Pacific Haven, Northern Watch, Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom and various humanitarian missions.
Regarding work, Jhune said, "I am currently the Section Chief of Asset Management in ther 60th Logistics Readiness Squadron here at Travis AFB. In a nut shell, I am responsible for 3 warehouses valued at $300M in support of aircrafts and 7K personnel. I have 70+ military and civilian personnel working in these operations. Like I said in the beginning, I'm just a regular guy and by no means I got promoted super fast."
